Flyover in ‘Opposition territory’ shows BN is fair, claims his constituency gets the least-Nong Chik

Datuk Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin, the Minister of Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing, in launching the new flyover in the city that linked Jalan Dewan Bahasa with Jalan Hang Tuah reported that the projects, which cost RM91million has been completed 10 months ahead of schedule. The project involves 2 flyovers, a pedestrian walkway and traffic light systems involving the Jalan Dewan Bahasa - Jalan Hang Tuah - Jalan Maharajalela and Jalan Loke Yew cross road was constructed to ease the traffic congestion in that area. Nong Chik said “This is the spirit of 1Malaysia, which is putting ‘People First, Performance Now’, as encapsulated by our Prime Minister and this goes to show that the Barisan Nasional government does not choose favourites. The Bukit Bintang constituency reaps the most benefits as it gets the most allocations for facilities even though it is under the Opposition. In fact, Lembah Pantai gets the least,”

Nong Chik is the Umno division head of Lembah Pantai. Coincidentally, the Member of Parliament for Lembah Pantai is Nurul Izzah Anwar from PKR (Parti Keadilan Rakyat), who is the daughter of opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Nurul Izzah defeated Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil in the last March 8 General Election.
