Two JPJ officers hurt in brick attack

Share
Two Penang Road Transport Department (JPJ) officers were injured when a motorcycle pillion rider hurled a brick which shattered the windscreen of the department's 4WD vehicle in Jalan Sungai Bakap here today.

Nur Suhaimi Kamarudin, 27, who was driving the vehicle, was injured in the face while his colleague, Ruzaizul Ahmad, 29, sustained minor injuries caused by glass shards.

Nur Suhaimi lost control of the vehicle, which skidded and crashed into a tree at the road-shoulder in the incident about noon.

The motorcycle-riding duo sped off in the direction of Simpang Empat.

Nur Suhaimi was warded at the Seberang Jaya Hospital where his condition was reported to be stable. Rizairul is undergoing treatment at the Sungai Bakap Hospital.

Seberang Perai Selatan police chief ACP Supt Shafien Mamat said the police did not rule out the possibility that the attack was masterminded by a “tonto” (look-outs for thugs) or those unhappy with JPJ’s enforcement activities.

He said the officers were heading to Sungai Bakap from Simpang Ampat when they were attacked with the brick

Hmmm..I believe the coffee money had been paid to the JPJ enforcers.Yet they still took actions on errant lorries. The lorry driver had to give the tontos RM100-200/month of their hard earned money. The tontos will take certain percentage from it and the rest will be used to bribed the JPJs enforcers..
