MACC arrests Ronnie Liu’s aide
A special assistant to Ronnie Liu was detained by the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) this morning for alleged misappropriation of funds allocated for the Selangor exco's constituency.
Liu, speaking to The Malaysian Insider, said he was outraged by the arrest, claiming that the MACC had informed him that his aide, Wong Chuan How, was only to be questioned as a witness and not a suspect.
The graft busters had been scheduled to question Wong at the Sungai Pelek service centre this morning but the special assistant was told that he was a suspect instead and was to be escorted back to the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya.
"First the MACC said they only wanted to question him as a witness, now they're saying he's a suspect and want to detain him and question him in Putrajaya. This is wrong," he said.
Wong then refused to go with MACC officers and insisted on lodging a police report, claiming the attempt to detain him was illegal. This led to a scuffle between him and the MACC officers.
Liu said his lawyers have already been instructed to go to the Sungai Pelek police station to try and resolve the matter.
According to Liu, Wong injured his leg during thescuffle and will be escorted by the police to the Serdang hospital where they are trying to get him hospitalised in an attempt to avoid MACC detention.
Wong had lodged a police report against MACC for allegedly assaulting him.
The arrest, said Liu, was none other than part of an ongoing attempt by the Barisan Nasional-led federal government to weaken the Selangor Pakatan Rakyat government through systematic harassment

After the death of Teoh Beng Hock, bn are showing no remorse for the evil deeds they have done, and are still continuing to harass witnesses and fabricate evidence. Pakatan between have their people camp outside MACC HQ in case MACC decide to throw Wong out from the building.
Be careful that this will not be a second case of sudden death by MACC.
Mr Wong should have a full medical check-up with photographs taken before he goes to the MACC office just in case he ends up with mysterious injuries. The S.gor govt should also ensure regular access to Mr Wong just to see that he is okay even if they are not allowed to talk to him.
And so the deadline to wrest Selangor is still in place and the MACC is back in business as stooge for BN. First say witness but changed to suspect because a witness has rights not to follow MACC but suspect arrested has to follow. For some reason MACC strongly desires that Wong be brought into custody so that they can "investigate" him. Hope he wont end up like TBH. How can the MACC still proceed when TBH's death still unresolved.
Lawan tetap lawan. Dont go down without a fight.
I think that the stimulus package by Najib for selangor needs to be disbursed but how to disburse to selangor when pakatan stands to gain. Hence the hurry.
